Til Red Is Dead is our prequel to Marty Robbins “Big Iron”. We love the song “Big Iron” and listen to it all the time. We knew that Marty Robbins was from Arizona and wrote his song about a cowboy showdown between an Arizona Ranger and Texas Red. One day we created a melody that had a cool western vibe and knew we should make it about the Arizona Ranger and his reason to go after Texas Red. Being from Arizona also, we wanted to do a Live take at a place where Marty Robbins used to go. The Thunderbird lounge in Phoenix is an ode to the one he went to in Glendale and thought how cool it would be to play a show there and record it in front of a live audience.

Lyrics

Marty’s on the ridge with his silver bullet gun
Looking for the man who took his father young
Oh oh

Living hand to mouth in the Arizona sun
Always kept quiet, mother was a nun
Oh oh

But one day something changed
When Texas Red came his way

Boy they're coming for ya, no surprise
Oh they’re reaching from the other side
He was, he was, he was
Left for dead they all believed
When they came back for them all to see
He won’t, he won’t. He won’t
Stop til Red is dead
Ohh, ohh

The fire’s burning up inside his chest
Nothing but revenge lingers on his breath
Oh, oh

Keep a sharp eye out east to west
Or your the 21st of Red to slip
Oh, oh

But one day something changed
When Texas Red came his way

Boy they're coming for ya, no surprise
Oh they’re reaching from the other side
He was, he was, he was
Left for dead they all believed
When they came back for them all to see
He won’t, he won’t. He won’t
Stop til Red is dead

Ooo, ohh ohhh
Boy they're coming for ya, no surprise
Oh they’re reaching from the other side
He was, he was, he was
Left for dead they all believed
When they came back for them all to see
He won’t, he won’t. He won’t
Stop til Red is dead
Ohh, ohh, ohh
